Account Analyst, Greater China Institutional team

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Account Analyst within the Greater China institutional team focus on supporting customized reporting, data retrieval, and research/analysis with the objective of working with account managers to support current institutional client service activities in Greater China.
The position is based in Hong Kong
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position requires an analytical, detailed professional who can:
• Accurately and efficiently prepare client reports spanning performance, trading activity, portfolio valuation and risk metrics. Analyze portfolio data including qualitative and quantitative performance attribution. Handle ongoing automation of growing reporting requirements and streamlining of the reporting process. Effectively utilize tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and macros. Intermediate use of Python is a plus
• Continually build understanding of macroeconomics and underlying market factors to complete qualitative, complex investment analysis
• Support the Account Management team through the provision of market and portfolio data, work with internal groups such as fund administration, operations and compliance teams
• Provide support for identifying new business development opportunities (i.e. investors, asset pools, channels), driving marketing/sales campaigns, and preparing for finals presentations and closing business
• Ensure all work is delivered completed, accurately, and on time
• Respond to client queries, proactively build a strong relationship with clients over time.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Desired Personal Characteristics
• Outstanding Cantonese and English communication skills - both written and verbal. Mandarin is a plus
• Commitment to quality and attention to detail.
• Self-confident, robust, decisive, trustworthy and with excellent judgement on client matters
• Effective communication skill is essential given the frequent level of client interaction.
• Actively listen and ask questions to determine and meet customer needs; go beyond normal job responsibilities to indirectly satisfy the customer.
• Innovative thinker able to bring forward and promote new ideas and initiatives, among peers and investors
• Able to demonstrate a passion for / deep interest in investment management
• Flourish in a challenging, fast-paced, professional environment with frequent shifts in priorities as business needs dictate.
• Foster a sense of teamwork, assisting others when needed/required.
• Strong sense of integrity, behaving consistently with expressed values and ethical principles of the firm.
Education/Certifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• Progress towards regulatory certificate in relevant jurisdiction
• Prepared to make progress towards attaining the CFA designation
Ideal Experience:
• 0-2 years of finance-relevant experience
• Collegiate team player, experienced and comfortable in an international operating environment.
• Can demonstrate an understanding of economics, capital markets and investment concepts.
• Possesses the language skill appropriate to the region (Cantonese & English).
• Intermediate use of Python is a plus
